I drew the pattern, take it into illustrator, live trace it and then you'd mask it with color. The hard part is trying to get the pattern to work....the color comes easy!

Oh, I didn't illustrator until recently when I was forced to work on it for assignments.
Try it out, you'll get good at it eventually!
